CVE-2018-25302 affects Allok AVI to DVD SVCD VCD Converter version 4.0.1217, containing a structured exception handling (SEH) based buffer overflow vulnerability. Local attackers can execute arbitrary code by supplying a malicious string in the License Name field. The exploit involves crafting a payload with junk data, NSEH bypass, SEH handler address, and shellcode. The vulnerability is triggered when the malicious string is pasted into the License Name field and the Register button is clicked. This results in successful code execution on the target system. The vulnerability allows for local privilege escalation and arbitrary code execution.
