Insights: Increased Risk of Wiper Attacks

Unit 42 researchers are observing an increase in wiper attacks conducted by the Iran-linked threat group Handala Hack (also known as Void Manticore). The attacks are being carried out through phishing campaigns and the misuse of Microsoft Intune. This represents an escalation in destructive cyber attacks by the Iranian-affiliated group, posing significant risks to targeted organizations through data destruction capabilities.
