A Tennessee man pleaded guilty to hacking the U.S. Supreme Court's electronic filing system and breaching accounts at AmeriCorps and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The case involves unauthorized access to federal agency systems and public disclosure of sensitive government data through social media platforms.
Technical details
Nicholas Moore used stolen credentials to access multiple government systems: U.S. Supreme Court's electronic filing system (accessed 25+ times between August-October 2023, sometimes multiple times per day), MyAmeriCorps accounts (accessed 7 times), and Department of Veterans Affairs My HealtheVet portal (accessed 5 times).
