Cloudflare detected and mitigated the largest ever distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack measuring 29.7 terabits per second (Tbps). The attack originated from the AISURU botnet-for-hire, which has been linked to multiple hyper-volumetric DDoS attacks over the past year. The AISURU botnet is estimated to have up to 4 million infected hosts under its control. The attack lasted for 69 seconds and represents a significant escalation in DDoS attack capabilities. This demonstrates the growing threat posed by large-scale botnets and their potential for causing widespread disruption.
